Alexandra Eala opens the Toray Pan Pacific Open as the No. 8 seed. The WTA 500 runs on hard courts in Tokyo from October 26 to November 1, 2026. The singles draw is 28 players.

In the first round (round of 32) she faces British wildcard Mika Stojsavljevic. ABS-CBN and GMA put Stojsavljevic at 17 years old and ranked No. 308. The official draw lists Eala’s entry ranking as No. 20.

Eala also plays doubles with Fil-Am Desirae Krawczyk, whose mother is Filipino. Their opening match is against Miyu Kato of Japan and Hao-Ching Chan of Chinese Taipei. ABS-CBN recently listed Krawczyk at No. 32 in doubles, with 13 WTA doubles titles and a career-high of No. 7. Chan was listed at No. 37; Kato at No. 46.

Tokyo follows a tough Ningbo exit. Diana Shnaider beat Eala 7-5, 6-4, closing on the seventh match point in about 1 hour 55 minutes, according to the WTA. Eala had reached the Ningbo round of 16 after beating Diane Parry.

Via organizers’ video, the Inquirer reported Eala saying she is excited for Tokyo crowds and the Filipino community there. Filipino fans watching from home will track both their singles path and the Krawczyk pairing through the week.
