Alexandra Eala and Fil-Am Desirae Krawczyk have withdrawn from the women's doubles at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo before their opening match, the Manila Times reported Monday. The WTA's revised doubles draw lists a back injury for Krawczyk as the reason.

Alternates Yulia Putintseva and Liudmila Samsonova take their place in the 16-team draw. They face Chan Hao-Ching of Chinese Taipei and Miyu Kato of Japan in the first round, likely on Tuesday, per the Manila Times and the revised draw.

The pairing had been announced over the weekend. Eala and Krawczyk were originally drawn against Chan and Kato for their Tokyo doubles debut.

Eala remains in singles only as the No. 8 seed (entry rank No. 20). She faces British wildcard Mika Stojsavljevic later Monday on Center Court — the fourth match of the day, according to the WTA order of play.

Krawczyk, whose mother is Filipino, is a left-hander like Eala. ABS-CBN lists her at doubles No. 32 with 13 WTA doubles titles, a career-high of No. 7 (August 2024), and four Grand Slam mixed doubles titles.
