Alex Eala has arrived in Wuhan, China, for the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open, her first tour event since the Asian Games. The world No. 18 is projected as the tournament's No. 13 seed, Inquirer reports.
The Wuhan Open posted photos of Eala practising on Thursday, GMA News reports.
The singles draw is set for Saturday, and the main draw begins Monday, Oct. 12. The event is part of the WTA's Asian swing. Wuhan shares Philippine time, so match times read the same for fans at home.
The projected top five seeds are Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva, Linda Nosková and Elina Svitolina.
Eala skipped the China Open in Beijing to play for the Philippines at the Asian Games. She came away with bronze for the second straight edition after a semifinal loss to China's Wang Xiyu. Before the Games, she exited the Singapore Open in the second round last month.
After Japan, Eala made a brief stop in France for Paris Fashion Week, where she attended Chanel's Spring-Summer 2027 show.
