Alex Eala will try to snap her slump at the WTA 500 Ningbo Open in China next week, the first of four stops left in her 2026 season.

The world No. 19 hasn't won a WTA match since sweeping Ukraine's Oleksandra Oliynykova in the US Open second round on Sept. 4, Inquirer notes. Two days later, she lost an epic three-setter to Iva Jovic in the third round.

Since then, unseeded Russian Tatiana Prozorova upset her in the Singapore Open round of 16. Eala skipped the China Open in Beijing to play the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, where the top seed took bronze after a semifinal loss to eventual gold medalist Wang Xiyu of China.

Her return at the Wuhan Open, the season's last WTA 1000, ended quickly. She lost to Chinese qualifier Shi Han 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 on Monday, then fell 2-6, 3-6 in doubles with Zeynep Sönmez on Tuesday, Philstar reports.

Here is what is left on her calendar:

  • Ningbo Open, China (WTA 500): 19–25 Oct, outdoor hard courts, per the WTA
  • Toray Pan Pacific Open, Tokyo (WTA 500): 26 Oct–1 Nov
  • Hong Kong (WTA 250): 2–8 Nov
  • Homecoming exhibition vs Indonesia's Janice Tjen: Philippine Arena, Bocaue, Bulacan

For readers in the Philippines, the season ends at home. Eala closes the year with the exhibition against Tjen at Philippine Arena.
