Alex Eala's Round of 16 against No. 6 seed Diana Shnaider at the WTA 500 Ningbo Open is on Center Court at the Yinzhou International Tennis Center, with a tentative 3:20 p.m. Philippine time start on Thursday, 22 Oct.

That is a two-hour, 20-minute shift from the earlier 1 p.m. Manila projection. According to the updated Tennis.com schedule, as reported by HEAVY, the start remains tentative and could change with the length of preceding matches. HEAVY reports Eala returns to Center Court after opening there Monday.

It is their first WTA Tour meeting. Shnaider, world No. 13, is left-handed. Eala is world No. 20. A quarterfinal berth is at stake; the winner could face Iva Jovic or Jasmine Paolini, per ABS-CBN.

Eala beat France's Diane Parry 6-3, 6-1 in 1 hour 17 minutes on Monday, winning seven straight games from 3-3 with 12 winners and 9 unforced errors. That snapped a three-match losing streak and was her 34th tour-level win of 2026, the WTA reports. After that match she said: "I'm very happy with my performance. I think it was a really good first round, tough first round."

Shnaider beat qualifier Yulia Putintseva 7-5, 7-6(4) in 2 hours 26 minutes on Tuesday.
