Alex Eala capped her first New York Fashion Week with a TikTok throwback: "This diva just did New York Fashion Week."
The post pairs childhood photos — orange top, yellow printed pants, blue doll shoes — with a final slide of her stepping out of a car in all white on the way to a show, GMA News reports.
Fresh off her third-round run at the US Open, the 21-year-old attended three Spring/Summer 2027 shows, sitting front row with Anna Wintour at two of them, Metro.Style and the WTA report:
- Tory Burch (Thursday, September 10): a red jacket and striped shirt, in the same room as Amanda Seyfried and Lauryn Hill. Her mother collected Tory Burch shoes when Eala was growing up.
- Michael Kors: a black A-line dress with floral appliqués and leather gloves at MoMA's Sculpture Garden, front row with Wintour again. GMA reports she met fellow Filipina Kelsey Merritt there.
- Calvin Klein: all white — button-down, trousers and pointed pumps — alongside Sadie Sink and Tate McRae. The brand spotlighted her on its Instagram.
Wintour was heard saying she is a "big fan," the WTA reports. During the US Open, she had praised Eala: "You could see even in such a young star how interested she is in fashion and how she wants to learn about it and follow it."
Eala sees the overlap too. "Sports and fashion are common in a way where you get to express yourself and you get to show your personality," she said in an interview with Cultured magazine, Philstar reports.
Next on her home calendar: "Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate," a December 8 exhibition against Indonesia's Janice Tjen at the Philippine Arena.
