Alexandra Eala opens the Toray Pan Pacific Open as the No. 8 seed. The WTA 500 runs on hard courts in Tokyo from October 26 to November 1, 2026.

In the first round (round of 32) she faces British wildcard Mika Stojsavljevic, who is 17 and ranked No. 308. The official draw lists Eala’s entry ranking as No. 20. Opening day is Monday, October 26.

The Philippine Star notes Stojsavljevic is slated to become the lowest-ranked rival of Eala’s Top-20 season.

Philstar has also tracked a rough month against lower-ranked foes. In Wuhan, Eala, the No. 13 seed, lost in Round 1 to No. 217 Han Shi. In Singapore, the No. 3 seed fell in the round of 16 to No. 180 Tatiana Prozorova. At the 20th Asian Games, the No. 1 seed lost to No. 85 Xiyu Wang and took another bronze.

Ningbo then brought a higher-ranked hurdle. No. 6 seed Diana Shnaider (No. 13) beat Eala 7-5, 6-4 on the seventh match point in 1 hour 55 minutes, per the WTA, ending Eala’s run in the round of 16.

Eala also pairs with Desirae Krawczyk in doubles, opening against Miyu Kato and Hao-Ching Chan.
